ALLEGAN – At its final meeting of 2023, the Allegan County Board of Commissioners awarded a $7,647,000 contract to Beckering Construction of Grand Rapids for constructing the addition to the courthouse, rehabilitating the balance of the existing building, and converting vacant space in the county services building on the Dumont Lake campus to house the non-court functions of the Clerk-Register of Deeds, Treasurer and Drain Commissioner.
“The Board established a $10.2 million ceiling for the project including engineering and architectural services,” county commission chairman Storey said.
“Work may yet commence during the final days of 2023, but no later than January.”
