The Clare wrestling team had many wrestlers that placed high in tournaments earlier this month.
First, there was a JV tournament at home on Dec. 15. Marek Michalski, Clayton Peacock and Dylan Kruskamp took first place during the tournament while Dustin McPhee took second place.
Next, there was a team tournament in Mount Pleasant on Dec. 16. The team took second place overall, beating Shepherd, Charlotte, Montabella and Mount Pleasant, losing to Hastings by 8 points. Ryan Moreno, Alden Tait and Holden Hollingshead were 5-0. Logan Cartensen, Carter Smedley, Bryson Hernandez and Wyatt Dole finished the day with four wins.
Lastly, on Dec. 20, there was a Girls Tournament in Mt. Morris. Savannah Buzzelli took first place going 3-0. She was not seeded for her matches. She pinned a four seed in her first match, beat a one seed with a score of 9-1 in her second match and beat a two seed with a score of 9-2 in her final match.
