A 61-year-old Clare man was arrested earlier this week in Shiawassee County after authorities said he claimed to be a bounty hunter, trying to pull over vehicles.
Deputies were called to Grand River Road and 1-69 at around 7 p.m. on Oct. 16 following reports of a suspicious vehicle, officials with the Shiawassee County Sheriff’s Office said on Oct. 18 in a press release.
Central dispatch had received reports of a silver Jeep Cherokee trying to pull vehicles over using a police-style blue flashing light, officials said.
When deputies attempted to pull the vehicle over, the suspect attempted to drive away. The vehicle was eventually stopped and the lights were recovered.
The suspect was taken to the Shiawassee County Jail and has not yet been arraigned.
