The Clare girls basketball team won their game against Harrison on Jan. 11 with a final score of 54-6. They also won their game against Ithaca on Jan. 16 with a final score of 51-36.
In the game against Harrison, Kendra Fouts scored 20 points and had eight steals. Tess Kelly had 14 points, nine rebounds and four steals, and Amelia Ryzyk had 12 points, six rebounds and three assists.
In the game against Ithaca, Fouts had 22 points and seven steals, Maddison Jones had eight points, 11 rebounds and three assists, and Ryzyk had six points, four assists and two steals.
“The girls have now won seven in a row and they are getting better and better every day,” head coach Shane Kelly said. “If we keep pushing to get better every day and hang our hat on our defense, a lot of good things can come to these girls that are working extremely hard.”
The Lady Pioneers’ next couple of games will be against Beaverton and Remus Chippewa Hills.
Along with the six points that Harrison scored against Clare in their game, they also had a total of 22 rebounds, two assists and nine steals, and they had a field goal percentage of 12%.
The Lady Hornets’ next few games will be against Coleman, Gladwin and Roscommon.
