Chambers Rebels 56, Hooper Colts 43
Chambers played host to the Hooper Colts in the first round of the AA AISA playoffs. The Rebels jumped out to an 8-1 lead in the first, capped off with a three by Levi Waldrep. Waldrep knocked down another three to open the second, and a basket and one by Caden Hayley extended the Rebel lead to 11. After Waldrep’s third three pointer of the night, Hooper finally found an answer with back-to-back threes of their own, but the Rebels maintained a 25-15 lead into the half.
With the Rebels holding an 18 point lead midway through the third quarter, the Colts finally found their stride and began to chip away, cutting Chambers’ lead 41-30 going into the final period of play. With the Colts diminishing the Rebels’ lead to just 7 and changing the momentum to begin the quarter, the Chambers defense was able to step up and shut down the Colt shooting. In the bonus, the Rebels effectively hit their free throws to seal the win 56-43.
Caden Hayley was the leading scorer with 25 points followed by Grey Hayley with 15, Levi Waldrep with 9, Brayden Riley with 4, Austin Brooks with 2, and Drew Sheppard with 1 point.

Chambers Lady Rebels 43, Autauga Lady Generals 34
The Chambers Academy Lady Rebels hosted the Lady Generals of Autauga in the first round of the AISA AA playoffs last week. The Lady Rebels took control of the game in the first quarter and tried to establish a cushion in the score, but the Lady Generals just wouldn’t go away. Chambers held just a 5 point lead 11-6 at the end of the first. Lexie Brown opened the second period with a basket, and the Lady Rebels took an 18-14 lead into halftime.
Chambers played an aggressive quarter of basketball in the third led by MeLeah Tigner who hit a three pointer while pulling a foul. She missed the free throw, but Tyane Anthony grabbed the rebound and banked in a bucket for a quick 5 points. Tigner ended the quarter with another three, and the Lady Rebels extended their lead 33-25. After allowing Autauga to score 6 points in 45 seconds, Anthony halted the General rally with a three pointer, and the Lady Rebels captured the win 43-34.
They will now travel to Evergreen to face Sparta Academy. Mackenzie Gilliland was the leading scorer with 14 points followed by MeLeah Tigner with 9, Olivia Daughtry with 7, Tyane Anthony with 6, Lizzie McManus with 3, and Lexie Brown and Baeda McClellan with 2 each.
