JV Girls
The Chambers JV Girls added three more wins this week all in convincing fashion. First, the JV Lady Rebels faced Trinity Christian. The girls came out hot moving the ball well and taking a 9-2 lead to end the first quarter. Emmi McManus was on fire in the second quarter, driving in for layups to extend the Lady Rebel lead 17-2 at the half. Trinity was able to score more in the second half, but the JV Lady Rebels came away with a 27-10 victory.
Next, the JV Lady Rebels traveled to Edgewood and came home with a 27-16 victory, and to round out the week, Chambers pulled out another win against Springwood. Chambers led at the end of the first quarter 5-3 with all of their points coming from free throws. They held the JV Lady Wildcats scoreless in the second quarter to end the half up 10-3. Samantha Lovelace hit back-to-back threes in third to extend the Rebel lead with the final score being 19-11.

JV Boys
The Chambers JV Boys also opened their week with Trinity Christian. The Eagles struck first, but the JV Rebels went on an 8 point scoring run. Holding a comfortable 17-9 lead at the half and a 25-17 lead at the end of the third quarter, the Rebels went cold in the final period allowing Trinity to come back within 4 points. However, the JV Rebels controlled the ball well, holding the Eagle scoreless in the last three minutes of the game to make the final 30-23.
The JV Boys added another win on the road at Edgewood 47-27. The JV Boys finished out the week facing Springwood at home. The Rebels got on the boards first in the contest and never looked back holding an 18-2 lead at the end of the first quarter, a 26-10 lead at the half, and a 32-13 lead at the end of the third. Hunter Andrews started the final quarter off with a three pointer, and the JV Rebels easily put Springwood away 39-21.

Varsity Girls
The varsity girls’ woes continued as they dealt with sickness on the team. They were not able to field their complete roster in either of their games last week, facing defending AISA AA State Champion Edgewood and rival AAA Springwood. At Edgewood, the Lady Rebels fell 21-47.
Shooting troubles and an incomplete roster also gave Chambers trouble at home against Springwood. The Lady Wildcats started out the game with a quick three. Autumn Blackall was finally able to answer with a two-point bucket to cut the Wildcat lead 2-5. However, Springwood soon took over the game sealing a 22-54 win over the Lady Rebels.

Varsity Boys
First, the Rebels faced Trinity Christian, whom they beat just the week before. TJ Daniel opened with a pair of free throws, and Ryan Smith followed with a three to put the Rebels up 5-0, but the Eagles went on a streak and ended the first quarter with the Rebels trailing 11-19. Chambers came roaring back to start the second quarter, and a Ryan Smith three pointer put the Rebels within 1. Austin Brooks got the basket under the goal to take the lead back ending the half up 25-24. The game stayed close in the third with the Rebels still on top 33-32 going into the final period of play. Koreen Henry started off the 4th with a three, but Trinity found an answer for every Rebel basket. Down 3 points, the Rebels got the ball back with less than 20 seconds left, but they couldn’t get a score and fell 45-40.
Next, Chambers faced defending AISA AA State Champion Edgewood on the road. Grey Haley knocked down a three to start the game. Jake Reames added another three, and the Rebels held a 14-4 lead to end the first. Spending most of their time at the free throw line, the Wildcats were able to chip away at the Chambers’ lead cutting it to21-17 at the end of the first half. The Rebels held a 6 point lead throughout most of the third, but the Wildcats hit a three point basket to cut the Rebel lead 35-32. Tied at 48 all with less than a minute to go in the game, Haley hit a two point basket to take the lead with ten seconds left in the game, but with two seconds left, Edgewood pulled down the three to win the game 50-51.
Next, the Rebels faced Springwood, who has been a tyrant on the court this season only dropping one game so far. The Rebels struck first taking a 4-0 lead, but Springwood scored 6 unanswered points. However, Chambers took back control ending the first quarter up 11-9 on the Wildcats. Chambers ran cold in the second only scoring 5 points, and with big man Austin Brooks in foul trouble rebounds were also limited for Chambers, and they trailed 16-30 at the half. In the second half, Springwood got hot shooting threes, and the Rebels fell 40-60.
