Candace Sue Garchow

Candace Sue “Candy” Garchow, Age 75, and lifelong resident of Clare passed away Friday, January 7, 2022 peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving husband and family. Candace was born September 26, 1946 in Midland, MI. Candace married her high school sweetheart, Glenn and the two were married for 56 years. Candace Retired from Clare Public Schools Food Service after 35 years as “The Lunch Lady.” She enjoyed lunches with her friends, playing cards, meeting with her “Secret Pals,” going to the movies and supporting her grandkids at their sporting events. Candace was known as “Grandma” to many.
Candace is survived by her husband, Glenn, her brother, Tom Walton (Maricopa, AZ), her loving children, Barry and Whitey Garchow (Philadelphia, PA), Jan and John Allen (Grand Rapids), Bruce and Michele Garchow (Sault Saint Marie) and Mike Garchow (Clare), her grandchildren, Allison (Richard) Theisen, Alyssa (Sean) Clark, Nick Garchow, Jessie (Erick) Theisen, Adam (Caylee) Anderson, Max Garchow, Aleia Allbee, Troy Garchow, Ethan Garchow and great grandchildren, Wyatt Anderson, Henry Clark, Blayke Anderson and Charlotte Haring.
A memorial visitation in honor of Candace will take place on Wednesday, January 12th from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Clare Chapel of the Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home. Memorial contributions being made in memory of Candace may be directed to ProMedica-Heartland Hospice.
