The Chambers Academy Varsity Softball Team kicked off their season with a pair of wins. First, Chambers faced Springwood and walked away with a 20-10 victory. Sophie Price got the win on the mound while Gabby Coleman led the Lady Rebels at the plate going four for five with four RBIs.
The Lady Rebels then won a nailbiter over Calvary. After giving up five runs in the first inning, Chambers had to battle back. Makayla Foster and Allie Paschal both drove in runs to put the Lady Rebels on the board. Holding the Knights scoreless in the second and third innings, Foster found a chance to strike, hitting a three-run bomb over the center field wall to tie up the game. The Knights were able to put up a run in both the fourth and fifth innings, but Olivia Daughtry hit a two-run double to once again tie it up. Trailing 7-8 in the bottom of the sixth, Daughtry brought in another hot bat. This time she hit a triple with bases loaded to give the Lady Rebels an 11-8 lead. With two outs in the top of the seventh, Chambers allowed Calvary to tie it up. However, with two outs and the game resting on Gabby Coleman’s shoulders, she hit in Allie Paschal to win the game 12-11.
Chambers then went one and two in the Edgewood Tournament, picking up a win over Macon-East 10-8. In their double header on Monday, the Lady Rebels beat Autauga 7-5 in the first game but lost the second game 5-6. They struggled against defending champs, Hooper, on Tuesday and dropped a staggering 25-28 game to Evangel on Friday.

The Chambers Academy Varsity Baseball Team currently holds a 4-3 record after two weeks of play. They started their season with a 10-0 win over Springwood. Five pitchers saw the mound recording eight strikeouts while only walking three batters and giving up no hits. The Rebels then suffered a 1-5 loss against Lowndes and a 0-5 loss against Lakeside before picking up a 15-5 win over Autauga in a double header. The Rebels’ bats got hot in the fourth picking up seven runs and continued their hitting streak into the sixth and seventh but went cold in the second game falling 1-2.
Chambers then bounced back in a 12-0 win over Hooper Academy and rounded out the week facing Evangel. Grant Jones looked solid on the mound in the first inning except for a two run homer facing the third batter. He didn’t let it shake him though, striking out the very next batter. Grey Hayley hit an RBI double to put the Rebels on the board in the bottom of the first, and Luke Tarver tied it up with an RBI single. Eli Pritchard and Landon Hand also drove in runs to put Chambers up 4-2. Peyton Yerta scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the second to make the score 5-2. The Rebels did give up a run in the third, but Hayley turned a double play to get out of the inning and keep the lead secure. Jones struck out two in the fourth while catcher Eli Whorton caught one stealing second to keep Evangel off the board, but the Lions tied it up in the top of the fifth. In the bottom of the fifth, Whorton knocked in Tarver on a single to take back the lead, and the Rebels held on for the win.
