The LaFayette Bulldogs hosted their spring Jamboree football game against the Notasulga Blue Devils last Friday.

The Bulldogs defense held Notasulga scoreless in the first half.

Defensive back Jaqualius Leverette was a major contributor to the Bulldogs success on the defensive side of the ball. Leverette had a interception and a fumble recovery on the night. It wasn’t until late in the game before both offenses would get on the scoreboard.

LaFayette would strike first with quarterback AJ Patrick throwing a 23-yard strike to wide receiver Jaquavious Williams for a touchdown. The Dogs would later add the two-point conversion to give them a 8-0 advantage over the Blue Devils about midway through the fourth quarter.

It wouldn’t be long before Notasulga would answer the Bulldogs score with one of their own on a 10 yard pass to give them 6 on the scoreboard. The Blue Devils 2-point conversion was unsuccessful and they trailed the Bulldogs late in the fourth quarter 8-6.

Neither offense would produce another score and the game would end 8-6, Bulldogs win.

The return of quarterback AJ Patrick, along with Zae Towles will be big for the Dogs this upcoming football season as well.
