Board hears comments on cost of boat slips

MCBAIN – At last week’s Missaukee County Board of Commissioners meeting, Tom Detloff, county park user, addressed rising costs of the county boat slips and the lack of the depth of the channel to get to the lake.
Rob Pallarito, representative for Senator Michele Hoitenga, just wanted to make himself available if there were any questions and gave an update on current legislature activities.
Lori Cox, Treasurer, reviewed financial reports for the month of August.
Wil Yancer, Sheriff, gave a report on the department and talked about a proposed contract with
WSI Technologies for the current department phone recording system. Currently it is being paid on an annual basis. A multi-year contract has been presented that offers significant cost savings.
The board voted to approve the sole source vendor WSI Technologies 5-year contract in the amount of $16,240 for the Digital Voice Logging System as presented.
Heather Harris-Bryant, Commission on Aging (MCCOA) gave a monthly report and introduced a new employee Jennifer Glasglow.
Eric Karbowski, MSU Extension, gave an annual report on the Michigan State University Extension. He also introduced new employees Niki Schultz and Sue Beerens who gave updates on their positions and activities. He also asked the board to approve the MOA for FY2024.
The board voted to approve the MOA for FY2024 with Michigan State University Extension as presented. .
Brad Siddall, Missaukee Road Commission Manager, gave the board an update on the County Road Commission.
Liz Vogel, Administrator, reviewed the items she presented at the Finance Committee meeting.
She reviewed the fiscal 2024 Recommended Budget which was adopted.
