The Otsego girls cross country team entered the Portage Invitational–the third-largest high school cross country meet in the nation–ranked first in Division 1.
And the Bulldogs showed why, as they finished with 70 points to top a field of 42 teams that included the best teams in the state.
The invitational win was the seventh of the season for Otsego, which kept its unbeaten record intact by improving to 144-0.
The Bulldogs placed four runners in the top 10: junior Megan Germain was third, junior Logan Brazee was sixth, freshman Emma Hoffman was eighth and sophomore Taylor Mitchell was ninth.
The Otsego boys, ranked fourth entering the day, finished seventh among 43 teams in its race.
Senior Colin Wesseldyk highlighted day for the Bulldogs, placing ninth and breaking the 16-minute barrier for the first time.
