Osceola commissioners salute football teams

MARION – The Osceola County Board of Commissioners voted to approve the special tribute to three high schools in the County and their successful football seasons. The high schools are Reed City, Marion and Evart.
The board voted to participate with Michigan Rural EIVIS for EMT/Paramedic Grant to fund the student/employee’s tuition.
Approval was given for EMS to apply to the Osceola County Community Foundation Grant for Carter Kits.
Commissioners voted to approve the retroactive payroll adjustment for the Sheriff’s department employees as presented and to give the employee the option to receive the money over two or three payrolls to reduce the tax burden.
Commissioners also approved the State of Michigan Survey & Remonumentation FY23 Grant Application as presented.
Commissioners voted to approve the Maintenance Director and County Administrator to purchase a 4×4 truck with a plow not to exceed $35,000 and to forgo the purchasing policy.
“That came from an emergency as they had a truck die on them,” county commissioner Roger Elkins said. “They’re doing plowing for the EMS building in Hersey.”
Commissioners approved the Medical Examiner Contract with Mid-Michigan Medical Examiner Group and authorized the Chairman to sign.
Commissioners voted to give county employee Heather Gray one additional year of Insurance opt out payment of $3,500.
