The 38th Annual Paw Paw Community Thanksgiving Dinner was held Thursday, Nov. 24, at Freshwater Community Church, 600 E. Michigan Ave., Paw Paw. This year’s event is supported by local churches, businesses, organizations, and individuals in this generous community. The free meal was available in two different options – delivery or take out. “The team that organizes the Thanksgiving Dinner are community members who have a passion for this event,” said Alison Harrop, director of United Christian Services, an organizer of the event. Ross Lucas, Community Thanksgiving lead dinner coordinator, said, “We served over 875 dinners, and we had great volunteers and donations. We had good food and good company.” Becky Acar, Community Thanksgiving lead food organizer, said, “I would like to say a huge thank you to those who donated sparkling juice. potatoes, desserts, green bean casserole and turkeys. A total of 60 turkeys were cooked for the event, which hopes to return to in-person dining next year, with additional volunteers.
