Joe Belser, 82, of Lake Martin went to be with his Lord and Savior Monday, November 14, 2022 at home surrounded by his family.
A celebration of his life will be held graveside Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Antioch Baptist Church, LaFayette, Alabama. Brother Bill Hand will be officiating.
Joe is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary; two sons, Johnny (Kathy) Belser of Alabaster, AL; David (Martha Anne) Belser of LaFayette, AL; and daughter, Brooke (Brian) Freeman of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, D.J. (Rachel) Belser, Brittany (Zach) Oglesby, Joey (Ashley) Belser, Branden (Kirsten) Belser, Christian Freeman, and Samantha Freeman; great grandchildren, Mary Katherine Oglesby, Annalove Belser, Haven Belser, Brynlee Oglesby, Hazel Belser, and Luke Belser. He was a beloved Uncle to many nieces and nephews and honorary Granddaddy Joe to many others through the years.
Born February 8, 1940 in Birmingham, AL to the late Lude and Mary Elizabeth Belser. He was preceded in death by his sister, Nan Belser Higgins. He retired from the construction industry in 2005 with more than 40 years of experience, including being Project Manager on the construction of the Auburn Baseball Stadium. Joe was Auburn Alumni and an avid Auburn Tiger.
