Obituary: Sharon Mae Jackson

Sharon Mae Jackson, age 80, of Clare, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2022, at Woodland Hospice in Mt. Pleasant.  She was born the daughter of William Henry and Aletha Mae (McLaughlin) Jackson on June 4, 1942, in Clare.  Sharon lived most of her life in the Clare area, except for a few years while working in Japan and then Chicago.  Upon returning from Chicago she became an Administrative Assistant at MidMichigan Community College where she served for 30 plus years.  She retired from Mid Michigan as a Secretary for the College President.  She was a founding member and past Board of Directors Member of the Central Michigan Community Federal Credit Union (now Members First CU).  Sharon had volunteered as a mentor at Pioneer High School in Clare.  She was a member of the Clare Congregational United Church of Christ, and had volunteered on several mission trips to Mexico and into Central America.
Survivors include her brother, William Craig Jackson, sister-in-law, Linda Jackson, nieces and nephews, Kelvin (Shari) Jackson, Jeanette (Bill) Hensler, Dianne (John) Rose, Lynda (David) McCartney, Theresa (Roger) Diehl, Holly (Vic) Kwiatkowski, Shannon (Bob) Carr, and Shawn Jackson-Mogg.  Also surviving are her cousins, Michael (Anita) Gallagher and Kathy (Kyle) Gosling, many grand nieces and nephews, and great- grand’s. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Keith Jackson, and sister-in-law,  Katheleen Jackson.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at 11:00 AM at the Clare Congregational United Church of Christ, 110 W. Fifth ST. Clare, Mi., with Pastor Connie Bongard officiating.  Burial will follow in the Vernon Twp. Cemetery.  Friends may meet with her family on Friday at the Clare Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.  Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made to : Saginaw Rescue Mission, for the Homeless.  On-line condolences may be made at www.stephenson-wyman.com
