The Clare volleyball team welcomed Pinconning to town for a memorable Jack Pine Conference match on Wednesday, Oct. 19. The Lady Pioneers won the game in straight sets, 25-15, 25-25 and 25-22, and also created awareness for a great cause.
“It was an awesome night for Be the Change (a mental health awareness event), senior night, and parent night,” head coach Shannon Taylor said. “So much support from the students, families, and the community. What a huge success and blessing it was. Thank you to all who donated, participated, and supported this incredible night.”
The Pioneers were led on the court by Ava Crowder with six kills, two aces and one dig, Olivia Ryzyk had four kills, one ace and one dig and Abby Brown had 20 assists, three kills, three aces and six digs.
“Thank you to our seniors for being fantastic leaders on and off the court,” Taylor said. “We are thankful for you and grateful we have more season left to see what you can accomplishment with your teammates.”
The Pioneers host a Division 2 district, beginning on Monday against Shepherd. Standish-Sterling, Ogemaw Heights, Gladwin and Bullock Creek are also in the district.
