MARION – Osceola County Commissioners set the public hearing for the 2023 budget at 9 a.m. on Nov. 1.
“We ended up with a budget and are using some fund balance on paper to balance it,” commissioner Roger Elkins said. “Usually the entire budget isn’t expended so we should not be hiting the fund balance that hard with it.”
Commissioners voted to approve the board chair to sign the AAAWM Purchase of Service Agreement Amendment.
Commissioners also approved the 2022 Apportionment Report.
“That’s something that’s required by law for the equalization director to give,” Elkins said. “Equalization makes sure properties were assessed properly. The tax you pay is based on what the assessment is.”
Also approved was to accept the Raise the Age Grant Award for Probate Family Court.
The board voted to approve the EMS ProCare LifePak 15 Preventive Service Contract for one-year with the board chair to sign.
The board voted to approve EMS to purchase 6 LifePak 15 Monitor/Defib at a cost of $264,065.34.
“That’s not just for the purchase but there’s a service agreement that goes with it,” Elkins said.
Commissioners voted to approve doing a request for proposal for Security Services at the Courthouse.
“We currently have a firm and their contract expires in January or February but the commission felt maybe we should check and see if theres anybody else out there,” Elkins said.
The board voted to approve accepting the bid from Century 21 for the Real Estate Broker RFP. “We had two bids for that and they were offering services at a lower rate than the other ones.”
