MARION – The Osceola County Board of Commissioners voted at its meeting earlier this month to approve the board chair to sign the contract as presented by Middle Michigan Development Corporation with a start date of Sept. 6, 2022.
“They also do Isabella and Clare counties,” commissioner Roger Elkins of Evart said. “It’s to assist us with economic development.”
Commissioners approved the Probate/Family Courts fiscal year 2023 CPLR Grant Award.
The commissioners approved Probate Court to fill an open Probate Register position.
Also approved was having the board chair sign the MiREMS Grant for EMT Class funding.
Approval was granted to EMS to apply for a USDA Grant for an ambulance being remounted.
The Clerk was given approval to sign off the title for a 2017 Ford F250.
The board approved allowing the part-time Building department position to work 29 hours a week until December 1, 2022 and to reevaluate the training process.
“There’s been increased activity there and there is a need to cover vacation and leave time,” Elkins said.
Then board approved covering 50 percent of the cost to repave the west side parking lot of the Crossroads Theatre Guild. The county’s cost is not to exceed $4,000.
