A-Tech on Hubbard Street hosted pop-up vendors plus provided sales on computers and more.Locust Street offered shoppers favorite brick and mortar shops plus numerous “pop-up” vendors who offered a wide variety of handmade items.Friday, July 29th, the Community Paint began. The mural on the side of On the Grid sponsored by the Allegan Area Art Council and designed by Tess Marhofer began to take shape. By Saturday, the teams of volunteer had the majority of the painting completed and ready for Tess to complete the highlights on Sunday. (Pictured: Judi McCall, Paula Mintek, Abby Tobolic, artist Tess Marhofer, and Lynnae White)From the Splash Pad to Tantrick Brewing’s backdoor to the Zipline to Main Stage, visitors celebrated Tantrick’s 4th Year Anniversary. At 5pm, music began with Kitten and the Tonics followed by The Soul Syndicate. As some visitors played Corn Hole, others ran through the small geysers, brave souls zipped high above the Kalamazoo River and others just sat around listening to music, visiting with friends and drinking the beers of the day.At right, Around the bend in the Boardwalk at Mahan Park’s Gazebo, the Zion Lion Reggae Band entertained those listening from chairs on the lawn, standing around the edges or dancing in front of the gazebo. This group was part of Allegan Chapter of the K’zoo Folklife Saturday Good Times at the Gazebo series. The last weekend of July was not quite a run-of-the-mill three day affair, but young and old had a destination and a plethora of activities along the way.
