EVART – Osceola County prosecuting attorney Tony Badovinac reported on July 1, Isaac Wilkinson, 20 years old of Evart Michigan was sentenced to 18.75 years to 50 years for his unprovoked assault on a 3-year old child who suffered several stab wounds.
Wilkinson pled no contest to Child Abuse first degree, a life offense and felonious assault, a four-year felony. The child is expected to make a full recovery, not withstanding the multiple wounds but will require corrective surgeries, Badovinac said.
Badovinac called the crime one of the more heinous he had seen in a career of over 30 years and noted that motive, if any, was “inexplicable.”
Last month, Badovinac said Shiann Ankney, 43, of Marion, was sentenced on to the Michigan Department of Corrections for a term of four years and three months to 20 years for a conviction of Delivery of Methamphetamine.
She was also sentenced to one year and five months to 15 years for a conviction for Maintaining a Drug House. Both crimes were enhanced by a habitual fourth application which increased the delivery charge from a 20-year to a life offense and which increased the maintaining a house offense from a two-year offense to a 15-year offense.
The convictions stem from sales to undercover agents during the past year, Badovinac said.
