The Saugatuck offense was firing on all cylinders when the Trailblazers took on Watervliet in a SAC girls soccer matchup on Wednesday, May 11.
And no Saugatuck player was firing at a higher level than Erin Moerler.
Moerler found the back of the net not once, not twice, but three times in leading the Trailblazers to the 7-0 victory, which upped Saugatuck’s record to 9-3-3.
Iris Kuipers also had a standout performance for the Trailblazers, scoring two goals and assisting on two others. Jenn Schock and Kennedy Gustafson added one goal each, with Schock also picking up an assist.
Eva Kierzek chipped in with two assists, while Maddie Klein and Ainsley Lowery had one assist each.
Saugatuck coach Jordan Campbell praised the defensive play of Haley Rivera and Kailyn Merkle.
“They led the way for us on that side of the field,” he said.
Grace Greenwood earned the shutout in goal.
