It is with deep regret that Alexa Urquhart transitioned on Good Friday from cancer.
She was and is loved by her husband, Dan Urquhart, son, Dan Hager, sister Rita Flattley and David Davenport, brother David and JoAnne Flattley, niece Christy Valenzuela, niece Megan Rose Flattley and Avery Blanks, nephew Christopher Flattley, niece Nancy and Greg Tolan, nephew Jeffery Heald and Mary Joe and Mark Fredrickson cousins. Also, her two dogs, Fergie and Rocky.
Alexa was 73 years old. She was an incredible creative and an excellent artisan and owner of Out of Hand Studios, creating weavings, lamp work beads and jeweler. A very spiritual being with an intense love of life and the people and animals in it.
She was a 20-year member of the Douglas Planning Commission and a Douglas poll worker. She rescued too many animals to name. Alexa’s friends are too numerous to address but include the Douglas Devas and Lakeshore Fiber Arts Guild.
Alexa will live on in all our memories. Donations in leu of flowers can be sent to Wings of Hope Hospice in Allegan or Wishbone Pet Rescue of Douglas. A gathering will be held at Everyday People Café in Douglas, on May 12 from 3 to 6 p.m.
