Last week’s story “City OKs plan for structure already built” was based on erroneous Douglas Planning Commission draft minutes posted by the city accidentally.
The Dunes Resort did demolish a pool onsite lacking proper permits — because of a miscommunication with city building inspector Michigan Township Services, owner Mike Jones says — but did not “raise,” as the incorrect draft said, a building. Instead one was razed. We regret the error.
Another front page story “Douglas man sentenced for hit and run death” states victim Jean Baty was driven by family members to Holland Hospital, based apparently once more on incorrect information.
Family members tell us after driver Ryan Cubbage dropped off Baty at her home, they called 911 and an ambulance took her from there to Holland Hospital, from where she was transported to Grand Rapids Spectrum Hospital where she died nine days after the accident. Again, we regret the error.
