ALLENDALE—The Allegan boys track and field team kicked off their season at the Laker Challenge at GVSU on Wednesday, March 23.
Top finishers for the Tigers included the following: Josiah Flora placing 17th in the 200-meter dash; Josh Hansen placing 22nd in the 60 dash; Drew Ellis placing 23rd in the 800; and the 4×300 relay team of Logan Vernia, Titus Smith, Ellis and Dominick Bury placing 19th out of 25 teams.
Other athletes performing really well were Vernia and Nic Cabrera running personal best times in the 1,600, Titus Smith placing 26th in the 60 hurdles and Joel Antkoviak throwing more than 34 feet in the shot put, leading the way for the Allegan throwers.
