Chambers 8, Abbeville 5
Chambers started the week picking up a win over the Abbeville Generals on Monday. The Rebels were able to stave off any runs by the Generals until the sixth inning but were able to put six runs on the board themselves in the bottom of the third. With two runners on, Jeremy Conway singled into left field sending Jo Jo Hendrix home. Jordan Whaley was then walked to load up the bases, and Jordan Benbrook hit a single to send Taylor Birmingham home. Jeremy Conway scored on an error during the same play. Luke Tarver followed with a line drive and reached on an error sending in both Whaley and John White, who was a courtesy runner for Benbrook. Next, Kyle Hand hit a ground ball and reached on another error sending Luke Tarver home for the final score of the inning.
In the bottom of the fourth, Conway was walked. Ben Caulfield was next up to bat and hit a line drive to left field sending Conway home. Whaley then doubled, allowing courtesy runner Kross Colley to score, putting the Rebels up 8-0.
In the top of the sixth with three runners on and two outs, Abbeville was able to send three runners across the plate on a double. They added two more runs in the top of the seventh, but the Rebels had already set the bar too high and captured the win.
