Geraldine Agnes Whitworth, 83, of Paw Paw, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2022. Geraldine was born in Claypool, Indiana, March 25, 1938, daughter of the late Paul and Bernice (Berkowitz) Ziegler.
She was united in marriage Oct. 7, 1961, to Franklin Fay Whitworth, who preceded her in death, Aug. 25, 2017.
Geraldine had been an active Lioness with the Paw Paw Lions Club, along with her husband. She enjoyed working bingo at the Lions Club, where she would assist in serving the food. Gerrie’s family always looked forward to the great meals she prepared. In addition to cooking, Gerrie took great pride outdoors planting her garden and flower beds. Every year she enjoyed tending the beds, making them beautiful and abundant all season.
She is survived by her three sons, Frank Whitworth, Joseph Whitworth, and Steven Whitworth; one daughter, Jeri Whitworth; nine grandchildren, Tristine, Carter, Taylor, Tanner, Tolin, Amanda (Justin), Allyson, Nikolas and Jacob; one great-grandchild, J.J.; two sisters, Dolores Wolownik and Patsy (Mike) Breitenbach; and one brother, Paul Ziegler.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her sister, Shirley Farrow.
Family and friends are invited to visit Friday, March 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home, 502 West Michigan Ave., Paw Paw. Mass of Christian Burial will follow Saturday, at 11 a.m. at Saint Mary Catholic Church, Paw Paw, with Fr. Richard Altine officiating. Burial will conclude at Saint Mary Cemetery, Paw Paw.
