Memorial Service for Mr. Nicholas Wheeler Fuller, 73, of Waverly, will be Friday, February 11, 2022 at 3:00 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Randy Anderson will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 11, 2022 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mr. Fuller passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at Chapman Healthcare Center. He was born on April 14, 1948 in LaFayette, Alabama to Wallace Fuller and Thelma Wheeler Fuller. Nick was a graduate of Auburn University and a lifelong Auburn fan.
Nick, an outstanding athlete, led his Five Points High School basketball team to a 27-2 record in his senior year. He earned college scholarships in both basketball and baseball.
He was a skilled horseman who raised and trained champion roping horses. He also participated in roping events.
Nick was an educator and coach in Bessemer and Alexander City. He was a member of the management team at Russell Corp. for many years. He retired as general manager of Marion Lumber Co., South Pittsburgh, TN where he volunteered with the National Cornbread Festival.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law Leigh Ellen and Brad Browning, Pelham Al; stepdaughter Julia Upton, Auburn; sister Addie Adams, Auburn; brother and sister-in-law Ed and Lou Fuller, Chattanooga TN. Nieces Cindy Alexander, Lou Fuller, Tiffany Nelson, Allison Fuller-Mulloy and a nephew with whom he shared a special bond, Scott Fuller.
Nick is predeceased by his stepson Lee Shockley, his parents, and a brother Wallace Fuller, Jr.
