Prior to recognizing the seniors at last week’s Senior night basketball game, Coach Hines shared that the Lady Rebels of the 2022 class were a special group of girls. They will be the winningest group of young ladies in the school’s history. A list of their accomplishments include 1A Volleyball State Runner-Up 2019; two 2A Volleyball State Runner-Up 2020 and 2021; 1A JV Volleyball State Championship 2018; Basketball 1A Elite 8 appearance 2019; 1A Basketball State Runner-Up 2020; two 2A Elite 8 appearances 2021 and 2022; 1A JV State Runner-Up 2017, 2018 and 2019; Softball 1A state tournament appearance 2019; Covid cut the 2020 season short but the Lady Rebels were destined for a state championship; and a third place finish in 2A in 2021. Although softball season is still a few weeks away, the Lady Rebels have a strong team of talented girls and expectations are high for a run at the state title.

With two wins against Macon East and one win over Lakeside, the Lady Rebels basketball team claimed the Region champ title and are headed to the Elite 8 playoffs. For the six seniors on the team, this is not their first time to play in the Elite 8. This will be their fourth time to play in an Elite 8 game and they have high hopes on winning a state championship. The Elite 8 game will be played Thursday, February 9th at 9:00 am at the Multiplex at Cramton Bowl in Montgomery.
