Betty passed away Saturday, January 22, 2022 in Kalamazoo. She was born at home on October 14, 1927 to Isac and Daisy (Fouts) DeKilder, the youngest of four children. Betty enjoyed playing both card and board games, reading, going to garage sales and flea markets, watching movies and collecting Hummel figurines. On June 26, 1944 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church she married the love of her life, Kenneth McLaughlin who passed away in 2006. Surviving are her daughter, Sandy Zantello; son-in-law, Mike Pearson; 3 grandchildren, Terri (Brad Smith) Zantello, Amy (Bill) Wood and Mike (Dima Madaj) Pearson; 5 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ken; daughter, Patricia Pearson; son-in-law, Gary Zantello; granddaughter, Debra Zantello; sisters, Dorothy Boerman and Rosie McLaughlin and brother, Donald DeKilder. A private family funeral service will be held. Burial will take place at Mountain Home Cemetery in Otsego. Contributions in memory of Betty may be made to Wings of Hope Hospice.
