John G. Kleinheksel, age 75, of Hamilton passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at Corewell Health Meijer Heart Center.
He was a lifelong farmer with his family and was very proud working alongside his two sons. He had a passion for God’s land and raising livestock. John loved to watch his granddaughters show 4-H pigs.
John was a member of Hamilton Reformed Church. He was a Fillmore Township Trustee for 21 years and on the Allegan County Road Commission for 15 years.
John could often be seen flying his plane over the farmland.
He had a passion for God’s beautiful and bountiful land and loved his family dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents Gordon and Martha (Volkema) Kleinheksel, stepmothers Eleanor Kleinheksel and Pauline Kleinheksel, and a sister Audrey Kleinheksel.
He is survived by his wife Sharon of 55 years and children: Bryan (Jessica) Kleinheksel of Hamilton and Mark Kleinheksel of Hamilton; grandchildren: Kilee and Macie and their mother Kimberly Kleinheksel; brother: Ron (Sandy) Kleinheksel of Holland; sisters: Eloise (Larry) Shattuck of Holland, Cynthia Kleinheksel of Holland and Myrna (Cliff) Folkert of Holland; stepsister: Penny Andrews of Bloomingdale, MI and stepbrother: Larry Andrews of Bloomingdale, MI; Aunts: Pauline Volkema of Lombard, IL and Lois Dumar of Redmond, WA; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, March 4, 2024, at Hamilton Reformed Church, 3554 Lincoln Rd., Hamilton, MI 49419. Pastors Kevin Hart and Ron Lugten will be officiating. Burial will be in Riverside-Hamilton cemetery.
A visitation will be from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm, Sunday, March 3, 2024, at Hamilton Reformed Church. Memorial contributions may be given to Corewell Health Foundation West Michigan-Fred & Lena Meijer Heart Center or Hamilton Reformed Church. Arrangements are by Dykstra Funeral Homes-Mulder Chapel.
