The LaFayette Main Street hosted its 2nd annual Love LaFayette Day on Saturday. The day felt like a spring day due to an overcast from expected rain later in the day. The spread of LOVE in the air seemed to form an invisible barrier that seemingly held back the rain.
This year’s Love LaFayette Day was sponsored by Harmon Engineering & Contracting Co., Guthrie’s Chicken – Lanett , AL and Guthrie’s Chicken Roanoke Alabama. The event was a little different from last year. There were more fun and exciting events for everyone involved to participate in.
The very first Cupid Run/Walk was added and it was the first event to start the day off.
Ladies, kids and men lined up to enjoy the 1-mile Cupid run/walk with their tutu’s, heart glasses on and etc.
The Cupid Shuffle was one of the featured line dances of the day. The Cupid Shuffle line dance was led by Blessed Body & Fitness Gym owner Pamelar Whitlow Holloway.
Up next was the Pet Parade. So many fur babies came out for the pet parade.
They strutted down the streets of downtown LaFayette showing off their LOVE attire. The fur babies were dressed to impress.
The show stopper for the day was a beautiful 35 year old pony named Pee-Wee owned by Allen Tucker. This wasn’t a first parade for Pee Wee, he actually holds a few winnings from parades and pet shows. The pony was dressed with love ruffles as it wowed the onlooking crowd.
