PAW PAW — Paw Paw beat 52-32 Bridgman at the Loy Norrix Love & Basketball Showcase last week.
Paw Paw had quarter leads of 11-8, 23-15 and 39-27.
Being the second game in two days, the Red Wolves came out with a good amount of energy after an emotional win against Vicksburg the night before,” coach Aaron Beery said. “The defensive level in the half court for the Red Wolves was very high. They forced three 5 second calls during the game and the Bees really struggled to score in the half court. Paw Paw struggled at times to contain Bridgman’s transition offense, which is where they scored a majority of the points throughout the game.
“It was the best overall team effort for the Red Wolves this season. All but one player scored and the leading scorer for the game was Sophomore Caden Bowen with 19 points including 5 3’s, who was also named the game MVP.”
The Red Wolves “are getting hot at the right time having now won three games in a row and improving to 7-9 on the season and sit 3-6 in the Wolverine. Paw Paw will be back in action on Tuesday (Feb. 6) as they travel to Battle Creek Pennfield.”
