PAW PAW – Paw Paw’s wrestling team beat Lakeshore 48-21 in wrestling action on Jan. 24.
Winners for Paw Paw were Kainan Teske, Tyler Perkkio, Ethan Edsberg, Preston Akers, Alex Burgess, Joose Garcia, Dominic Hernandez, Gavin Turk, Anthony Hudson, Cameron Kozel and Braylen Kennedy.
Paw Paw on the same night lost 45-36 to Vicksburg.
Winners for Paw Paw were Gavin Turk, Anthony Hudson, Camron Kozel Braylen Kennedy, Tyler Perkkio and Jose Garcia.
Mattawan wrestling
Mattawan’s wrestling team lost 60-12 to Lakeshore and 57-22 to St. Joseph on Jan. 24.
Winners for Mattawan over Lakeshore were George Dandinidis, Aidan Robinson, Dylan Putman, Zach Aetrip, Daniel Watson and Cohen Lopez.
Winners for Mattawan over St. Joseph Angelo Frugone, Kevin Schoonbeck, Jake Nothrup, Zack Miller, Elyse Morales and Frederike Landgraf.
Mattawan hockey
Mattawan’s hockey team is coming off a busy week of action and now has an 8-6-1 record. On Jan. 27, the team lost to Grandville 5-1 but on Jan. 26 beat Kalamazoo Loy Norrix 7-2 and on Jan. 23 lost to DeWitt 4-2.
Wednesday of this week, the team is home with Portage Northern at Wings West Arena Kalamazoo. Mattawan plays at Cadillac on Feb. 2 and at Big Rapids on Feb 3.
