MCBAIN — McBain’s wrestling team had two Highland Conference matches on Jan. 11.
McBain lost 23-18 to Evart.
McBain’s Xander Houser at 150 lost 20-5 to Joseph Kunin. Luke Hoitenga had a forfeit win at 175 pounds.
Wesley Nelson (190) had a pin over Halvor Moyer. Charles Hammer (113) won by forfeit.
McBain lost the same night to Houghton Lake 30-12.
There were double forfeits at 106, 113. 138, 144, 150, 165 and 175.
Charles Hammer (120) of McBain pinned Randall Edward on 2:44. Mason Lanoise (126) and Corey Marcotte (132) of McBain won by forfeits.
Andrew Oster (157) of Houghton Lake pinned Xander Houser in 27 seconds..
Luke Hoitenga (190) pinned Michael Stremesch in 2:20. Ethan Nalor (215) pinned of Houghton Lake (215) pinned Wesley Nelson on 49 seconds. Cadence Murray of Houghton Lake at 285 won by forfeit.
McBain was scheduled to wrestle on Saturday at the Lakeview Invitational but it was snowed out.
McBain will be at the Lake City Quad on Jan. 18 and at the Mancelona TeamTournament on Jan. 20.
