GOBLES – Gobles boys basketball coach John Curtis is confident his boys basketball team will be earning more wins.
“At this time we are 3-6 and struggling with consistency on the offensive end,” Curtis said. “We are a very young team and start one freshman and a sophomore. Our goal is to continue to get better and compete with teams on a nightly basis. We don’t have anyone that is standing out at this point and we are still searching for leaders to step up.
“Due to football injuries we have lost two seniors to injuries that would have made solid impacts this year. One player is out for the season and our all-conference player, Tristan Harbaugh, has played two minutes this year and is a ways away from playing right now.”
Gobles defeated Lawrence 44-40 in its last game on Jan. 10. Gobles is at Galesburg-Augusta on Jan. 19.
The Gobles girls basketball team is 4-3 and was set to be home on Jan. 16 with Allegan, at Galesburg-Augusa on Jan. 19, at Marcellus on Jan. 22 and home with Bloomingdale on Jan. 23;
Gobles is 0-2 in the Southwest Conference
