Tuesday night the LaFayette Bulldogs basketball team traveled to Notasulga, Alabama for an area game against the Reeltown Rebels.
It would be the first meeting between the two teams this season and a very important game as far as the 2A Area 6 standings.
LaFayette is coming off a good win over area and county rival Lanett on last week and was looking to add another “W” to the win column against the Rebels.
Reeltown put up a valiant effort, giving the Bulldogs all they could handle for 4 quarters.
But the Dogs would prevail edging out the Rebels 48-41.
The Bulldogs were back at home on Thursday night for their 3rd straight area game in a row.
This time the Bulldogs played host to the Horseshoe Bend Generals another 2A Area 6 opponent.
On this night LaFayette Bulldog Head Coach Chase Lewis and his Coaching Staff hosted a Rec Night for the LaFayette, Alabama parks and recreation girls and boys. The Rec teams got to experience pregame and postgame with the Varsity Bulldog Teams and feel the excitement and experiment of running out on the court with the team. The rec cheerleaders got a chance to cheer also.
It was a Bulldogs massacre with the Generals from the start and Horseshoe Bend just happened to be on the receiving end. The Bulldogs took advantage of the game rather quickly and took away any hopes the Rebels might have had about winning.
LaFayette added another win to their season record defeating the Rebels 69-54.
The Dogs are now 13-5-1 on the season and are in first place in
2A Area 6 with a record of 3-0.
