Ruby Mae (Reed) Abbas, age 90 of Lake, passed away Monday, December 27, 2021. Ruby was born in Maryville, TN and eventually settled in Clarkston, MI where she raised five children; finally retiring to Lake, MI with her loving husband.
Ruby enjoyed tending her flowers for hours and watching the birds come to her feeders. She enjoyed cooking and baking, always having fresh cake, cookies and milk for visitors. She was very talented at painting and drawing pictures of wildlife and especially flowers and birds. Ruby was very involved in the Bethany Baptist Church in Lake and loved to sing.
Ruby was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother; she will be sorely missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her children Larry (Laura) Buhl, David (Lynn) Buhl, Vicki (Don) Franckoviak, Cathy Freeman and Derold R. Abbas; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her loving husband Derold H. Abbas and parents Robert and Alice (Franklin) Reed.
Visitation and services will be held on Monday, January 3, 2022 at the Farwell Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home. Visitation will start at 11 A.M. with services to begin at 1 P.M. Burial will follow in the Garfield Twp. Cemetery with a luncheon to be held at the Bethany Baptist Church. On-line condolences may be left at www.stephenson-wyman.com
