The unseasonably warm weather experienced Friday, Dec. 8, didn’t bother those who attended Lawton’s Christmas in the Village. A parade, sponsored by the Lawton Lions Club, saw the arrival of Santa Claus, a variety of floats, the Lawton High School Band, and a miniature horse and cart, among other entries. At the Lawton Library, participants could take part in Christmas crafts before and after the parade. Following the parade, Santa greeted area children at the Lawton Village Hall. Prior to the parade, the Village Christmas tree was lit at Reid’s Corner. Friday night’s unusual weather even saw event attendees take part in Buster’s Hayride.
