Inclement weather forced the Paw Paw Downtown Development Authority (DDA) to cancel Friday night’s Dec. 1, “A Cozy Christmas in the Village,” with the community tree lighting. However, the village Christmas tree located in front of the Carnegie Center, 129 S. Kalamazoo St. was lit without the fanfare to usher in the village’s holiday season. It continued Saturday morning, Dec. 2, with the 45th annual Children’s Christmas Parade. Serving as grand marshals were Rick, Gary, and Jerry Mitchell. The parade traveled from Gremps Street at the parking lot of St. Julian Winery, to Michigan Avenue. It continued east through downtown to Freshwater Community Church. At the church, Santa greeted and had photos taken with area children.
