Obituary: Devere “Dee” Ernest Lamphere

Devere “Dee” Ernest Lamphere, age 81 of McBain passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Autumnwood of McBain. Dee was born to Mary and Ernest Lamphere in Cadillac, MI on September 18, 1942. Dee married the love of his life Joyce Marie Wonsey on May 22, 1964, together they had four children; Shelly Nadrowski, Michael Lamphere, April (Curtis) Moggo, and Lisa Lamphere. They were blessed with ten grandchildren, grandsons; Trevor (Steve) Nadrowski, Logan, Anthony, Hunter, and Devan Russ, Riley (LyLy) Moggo, granddaughters; Kaitlyn Nadrowski (Tyler), Nicole Lamphere, Taylor (Chase) Walter, and Jacelyn Moggo, great-grandsons; Bentley Tissue, and Preston Hansen.

Dee enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved to share his memories with everyone. He enjoyed listening to old country music and singing along, and he would often get the nurses to sing along as well. Devere enjoyed working on lawnmowers and tinkering with projects in the yard. He was a witty and honest man and was never afraid to speak the truth. He loved his family and was always there if you needed a hand. Dee enjoyed his visits with his brother John and special nephews Ray Harris and Tim Lamphere. They shared stories for hours of the adventures they had together over the years.  He will be missed by many, but we are peace knowing he is forever with his wife Joyce, family, and friends. A special thanks to the nurses on Ivy Lane at Autumnwood and Hospice of Michigan.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will take place at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at the Marion Baptist Church with Pastor Dennis Williams officiating, a luncheon will immediately follow the service at the church.
