MARION – Marion High School was scheduled to host a blood drive earlier this week from 10:30 am to 4 p.m. The drive was held in the high school media center. Ages 16 (with parent’s permission) and older were welcome.
This drive’s tip for a successful donation is to make sure to eat iron-fortified cereal, Malt-o-meal, or take iron supplements to bump up your hemoglobin count.
As always, donors were encouraged to drink extra water and eat a good breakfast/lunch on the day of the drive to ensure a comfortable blood draw.
