MARION – The Osceola County Board of Commissioners, at its recent meeting, turned down two recommendations made by the Committee of the Whole prior to its meeting.
The committee had voted to approve the Clerk to advertise and fill the open position in the Clerk’s office that will be effective on November 13, 2023. It was also recommended to approve the Pay Grade/Step change for the Community Corrections Director from Grade 9 to Grade 10 for the 2024 Budget.
But these were both voted down at the board meeting.
“I voted for them in committee,” Marion area commissioner Tim Michell said. “But I voted against them both at the board meeting. We just felt we needed more information.”
Also at the meeting, the board voted to approve the Resolution to authorize year-round dog license renewals with the option of a three-year dog license as presented by the Treasurer.
Commissioners approved the Board of Canvassers Appointment as requested by the Clerk to be filled through 2027: Patrick Tiedt (Republican) and Julie Erickson-Sequin (Democrat).
Commissioners approved the PA-116 Application for Douglas Wirth.
The board approved the agreement for the Election Services between Osceola County and the participating townships/municipalities.
Commissioners approved adjusting the Veterans’ Grant Administrator stipend from $3,500 to $3,600 to be consistent with 2023 Stipend.
