ALLEGAN –- Allegan County commission chairman James Storey said Overisel Township Treasurer Patty Reuschel participated in her last board meeting this past week.
During the meeting, Supervisor Russ VanDam read Reuschel’s letter announcing her resignation from the jobs she has effectively handled for 41 years.
“In addition to collecting taxes she, along with Clerk Renee Hop, administered the township’s financial books,” Storey said. “She also published the township newsletter and staffed office hours. Her common sense during board meetings
helped the township reach wise decisions. That said, her retirement is well-earned, and her service is a legacy for which thanks are indeed due.”
Storey added: The image of an elderly gentleman giving thanks over a simple meal hangs in the Board of
Commissioners’ meeting room. It reminds us at every meeting from Whom all blessings flow and its
sharing is especially appropriate for the uniquely American feast of Thanksgiving.
