Funeral services for Tymon Roger Head, age 79, of Roanoke will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at 2:00 PM, at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Mike Brewer, Bro. Scott Whaley, and Bro. Calvin Trammell officiating. Burial will follow at Rock Mills Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00-2:00 PM on Thursday before services begin.
Mr. Head passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at his residence.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Faye Hood Head of Roanoke; one son, John Michael Head of Childers, TX; step-daughter, Stacey Ann Hall of Tallassee; step-grandchildren, Heather Leigh Hall, Heaven Hall, Hannah Hall, and Harrison Hall; and step-great-grandchild, Maria Hall.
Pallbearers will be Harrison Hall, John King, Carey Holloway, and Scott Whaley.
A Roanoke native, Mr. Head was born on March 13, 1944, the son of Tymon and Lucille Janney Head. He was a member of Rock Mills Methodist Church where he was a faithful member. Mr. Head loved his church family and helping in any way he could. He worked as an assistant meat manager at Winn-Dixie for 31 years. Mr. Head also enjoyed his visits to the Senior Center in Roanoke and he loved his dog, Sugar. Mr. Head was preceded in death by his parents; step-daughter, Serena Lyn Thompson; and two sisters, Mary Ann Nobbley and Janice Nobbley.
