Glenn Circle of Lights beckons all

Small-but-mighty Glenn will host its annual Circle of Lights vintage holiday celebration Friday after Thanksgiving, Nov. 24, as dark falls from 5 to 7 p.m.

Framing the 6 p.m. arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus by horse-drawn carriage will be tours of Glenn’s historic schoolhouse and procession down luminary-lit path to the Glenn Church for warmer indoor activities.

Celebrants can unthaw over home-baked cookies and hot chocolate, take part in a sing-along with musician Dan Pierce from South Haven’s cultural Foundry Hall, watch kids recite holiday dreams to the Clauses, and take part in a free gingerbread house raffle. (See nearby photo, taken in 2019).

Want your own photos? Have them taken with your family in the old-fashioned sleigh. Or, of course, with the St. Nick clan.

Want to make a day of it? Burn off pre-feasting calories, get lungs pumping, heart beating and muscles feeling strong post exercise and get ready for the early night? Join the “Dashing Through Glenn” 5K run/walk starting … at 10 a.m., starting from and ending at Waypost Brewing, 1630 Blue Star Hwy.

The event, which asks for a $30 donation (or more if you have) it, raises funds for The Glenn Square.

Founded by the late William Erby Smith, Glenn’s Circle of Lights Celebration welcomes all.

Glenn lies between Saugatuck and South Haven: just south of I-196 Exit 30, at the corner of Blue Star and 114th Avenue. For more information, visit Facebook.com/GlennCircleofLights.
