Missaukee County Administrator resigns

MCBAIN – Chairman Dean Smallegan of the Missakee County Board of Commissioners at a recent meeting read a letter of resignation from Administrator Liz Vogel, stating that her last day as County Administrator would be December 1, 2023 after accepting a position with the City of Traverse City.
Under public comment, Pat Bierens, on behalf of the Lake City Senior Center, wanted to invite all to the potlucks on the second Tuesday of every month at noon.
Tom Detloff, said he was at the meeting last month and just wanted to reiterate his concerns with the depth at the boat launch.
The commission voted to approve the 2023 apportionment report as presented.
Dawn Kaminksi, Missaukee Chamber of Commerce, reviewed the letter she submitted looking for support designating M-55 as a “Pure Michigan Recreational Coast to Coast Byway” and a proposed resolution to that effect.
Later in the meeting, the board approved a resolution which ended up stating:
“The Missaukee County Board of Commissioners enthusiastically supports the nomination of M-55 as a Pure Michigan Byway and authorizes including this resolution with the nomination documents, and that the Missaukee County Board of Commissioners hereby requests and encourages the MDOT to quickly designate M-55 as a Pure Michigan Byway.”
It was also resolved the Missaukee County Board of Commissioners hereby commits itself to support within its jurisdiction the management plan part of this nomination.
