Jane Alden Bowman, age 86 of McBain passed away on October 22, 2023 at Quiet Creek Assisted Living in Falmouth. Jane was born on February 17, 1937 in Union City, Tennessee to Ray Richard and Anna Laura (Blanton) Wheeler. She Married Willis D. Bowman on May 4, 1956 at the Marion United Methodist Church and he preceded her in death on March 16, 2019.
Jane was an active member of the Marion Baptist Church. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, watching westerns and Walker Texas Ranger on TV, working in the yard, flower and vegetable gardening, bird watching, helping on the farm and fried the best chicken and baked the best bread to be had.
She is survived by her children; Pam (Jim) Raspotnik of Manistee, Kevin Bowman of Weidman, Willis Bowman II of McBain, Melissa (Jon) Gassert of Big Rapids, and Michael Bowman of Marion, eleven grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 1 great great-granddaughter, brother; John (Peggy) Wheeler of Marion, brother-in-law; Ken Cruson of Marion.
Jane was preceded in death by a son; Jeff Bowman, great granddaughter; Hannah Sickles, daughter-in-law; Jeanette Bowman, sisters; LaMarr (Joe) Laban and Ruth Cruson, in-laws; Reta Crittenden, Martha (Lyle) Armentrout, Frank Bowman, Bob (Mabel) Bowman, Keith (Betty) Bowman, Lawrence Bowman, Mamie Brown, Hazel Bowman, Donna (Ross) Sneary and Lila Hendershot.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 27,2023 at 11:00 A.M. at the Marion Baptist Church with Pastor Dennis Williams officiating and burial will take place in the Greenwood Cemetery at Marion. Visitation will be at the Burkholder Family Funeral Home in McBain on Thursday from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and one hour prior to the services on Friday at the church. A luncheon will follow at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Marion Baptist Church or Hospice of Michigan.
