Jason R. Rustin, age 46 of Clare, passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at the MyMichigan Medical Center in Clare. He was born the son of Dennis and Debbie (Zion) Rustin on January 25, 1977 in Mt. Pleasant. Though Jason had faced many health issues throughout his life he had worked at the Mackie Rest Area as a Janitor, as well as a Car Detailer in Clare. When he was able to Jason attended the Clare Church of the Nazarene. At a young age he was given the nickname “Moose”, he would get knocked down but always got up again. Jason loved his truck and enjoyed Halloween, creepy skeletons, and music.
Jason is survived by his mother Debbie Waddington of Clare; a sister Helen (Harold) Goodwin of Arizona; stepbrothers Doug (Sherri) Rustin and Danny Rustin; niece Alyxczia (James Kinkead) Thurlow; nephew Chazz Goodwin; great nieces Aurora Thurlow and Nova Kinkead; aunts and uncles, Eleanor (Ned) Wixson, Carl (Janis) Zion, Suemya Louch, and Julie Zion; his special friends and caregivers Lynette (Tiffany) and Penny, as well as many cousins. Jason was predeceased by his father Dennis.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, October 23, 2023 at 11 A.M. at the Clare Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Tim Fall officiating. A luncheon will follow the services. Arrangements were handled by the Clare Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home.
