Obituary: Lee Schepers

Lee Schepers, age 77, of McBain, Michigan, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. Lee, along with Larry, his twin brother, was born on August 26, 1946, to parents George and Marian (Dieterman) Schepers in McBain, Michigan. On March 6, 1966, Lee married his high school sweetheart, Beverly Hartzog Simmons. A few months after graduation, he was drafted into the army and served two years, with one tour in Vietnam. Shortly after being discharged from the service, Lee started Schepers Brothers Construction with his brother Larry. They worked tirelessly together until their 2008 retirement. Lee and Beverly went on to have three sons, Scott, Christopher, and Keith. Lee loved hunting, fishing, sports, and, most of all, his grandkids. Lee was preceded in death by his parents, George and Marian Schepers, and several brothers and sisters in-law. He is survived by his wife Beverly; his siblings, Joyce (Roger) Mayle, Larry (Sharon) Schepers, Mary Wood, Linda (Jerry) Ivy, Paul (Diana) Schepers; his sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Trisha Schepers, Christopher and Megan Schepers, Keith and Beatrice Schepers; his grandchildren, Chrissy Mohr, Kailey Finkler, Stephanie ( Mark) Wehr, Travis Schepers and special friend Jessica Marvin, Cameron Schepers, Cole Schepers, Alexis Schepers, Abigail Schepers, and his 2 great-grandchildren, Conner and Hannah Wehr and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at the Burkholder Family Funeral Home in McBain with Elder Jay Purvis officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 10, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and one hour prior to services on Wednesday. Burial will take place in the Riverside Township Cemetery with military honors by the Cadillac Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to Lake City Community Church of Christ or Hospice of Michigan.
