MARION – It was announced Trick or Treat hours for the Village of Marion will be Oct. 31 from 5 to 8 p.m.
Village president Flora Grundy said the Fire Department will be hosting their annual Halloween party at the Fire Hall on Oct. 29, from 4 to 7 p.m. There will be games, candy and a costume contest.
“We received two applications for appointment of the vacant council seat,” Grundy said. “The council went into closed session to discuss and appointed Dave Swiler to complete the remainder of the term and he may run for the seat next year.
“A Narcan Box will be placed in front of the Village Hall this month. It is a newspaper style box and can be accessed by anyone free of charge. The box and supplies are at no cost to the Village.”
Grundy said the memorial for former council president and member Don Gilmore was discussed.
“A plaque is being ordered and we will have a dedication date set later this month once everything is in place,” she said. “The group that proposed a disc golf course was back in front of the board with a revised ‘golf course’ that would be on the south end of the park on Village property.
“The engineer for our DWSRF water project was at the meeting and gave an update on the progress of the project. We are on schedule and we may see some things beginning yet this year.”
The next meeting is set for Monday, Nov. 6 at 7 p.m.
